About Me
Greetings, I'm Karen Slider, but most folks call me “KK”. Let me take you on a trip through my life a journey from the streets of South Central Los Angeles to becoming the second black female firefighter with the LAFD.
Growing up, I faced challenges that could've held me back, but I refused to let them define me. Now, I'm here to share my story with the world. My book dives deep into my experiences, showing how I turned adversity into opportunity.
But that's not all. I am also an artist, and my "Art In a Box” and painting pieces are my way of expressing myself beyond words. Like all art, each piece tells a story. This art is infused with my passion and creativity.
